{"id":58,"date":"2024-02-13T00:58:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-13T00:58:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.limur.eu\/limur\/?page_id=58"},"modified":"2026-05-20T16:02:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T16:02:56","slug":"whats-limur","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.limur.eu\/limur\/whats-limur\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s LIM\u00faR?"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>No, <strong>LIM\u00faR<\/strong> is not the the latest Icelandic pop sensation or a cute little arboreal animal from Madagascar: it\u2019s the Iberian Roots Music Chart.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>LIM\u00faR<\/strong> aims to celebrate, recognize, promote and disseminate the highest quality <strong>Iberian roots music<\/strong> productions.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>We understand <strong>Iberian roots music<\/strong> as any musical expression <strong>with roots in Iberian cultures made anywhere on the planet<\/strong>, as well as any musical expression <strong>with roots anywhere on the planet made by Iberian artists and\/or in Iberian lands<\/strong>, Iberian being understood as referring to any territory under Spanish, Portuguese, Andorran or Gibraltarian administration, including those located outside the Iberian Peninsula.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>LIM\u00faR<\/strong> brings together a team of specialists in roots music in its different aspects: traditional, folk, the so-called world or global music, or styles such as flamenco, fado or any other, with an open spirit to evaluate any record production according to its artistic quality, beyond its musical style.<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>LIM\u00faR<\/strong> produces every year a chart with the recent albums of the above mentioned characteristics best rated by the panelists, in a unique category that will gather any record production, regardless of format or method of release and distribution.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>LIM\u00faR<\/strong>\u00a0was conceived and is managed by\u00a0<strong>Juan Antonio V\u00e1zquez<\/strong> (Mundofon\u00edas, Mil mundos, Transglobal World Music Chart&#8230;).
